One of my favorite books of late has been The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson.
From Wikipedia: "Karl Stig-Erland Larsson (15 August 1954 – 9 November 2004) was a Swedish journalist and writer, born in Skelleftehamn outside Skellefteå. He is best known for his authorship of the Millennium Trilogy of crime novels which were published posthumously."
The book has been made into a movie. The movie is in Swedish with English subtitles. Having gone and seen the movie I was quite impressed. The movie is about 95% faithful to the book. The movie was well written and casted extremely well. I enjoyed the movie immensely.
I'd recommend both reading the book and going and watching the film.
